Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fog alert for four Odisha districts. As per the forecast, dense fog will engulf isolated pockets of the Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, and Koraput districts on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the rest of Odisha is expected to experience dry weather, with no rainfall predicted for the day.
In addition, shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, and Jharsuguda.
“Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda”, read the IMD prediction for January 19.
Going by the regional weather office forecast for January 20, shallow to moderate fog will engulf at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda.
Residents of Odisha are advised to take necessary precautions while travelling, especially in areas where dense fog is predicted. Reduced visibility due to fog can lead to accidents, so drivers are urged to exercise caution.
On the other hand, the dry weather predicted for most of Odisha may bring relief to those who have been experiencing wet conditions in recent days.
