Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri predicting dense fog up to the morning of January 27 beginning from tomorrow morning.
The Special Relief Commissioner’s office has issued an advisory to all Collectors and SPs in view of the yellow alert.
The SRC’s office has advised Police and Transport officials of the districts to take necessary steps for controlled plying of vehicles on highways during dense fog to avoid any road accident.
Further, the weather agency has predicted that there will be no large change in Minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next two days and a gradual fall by 3 to 5 °C thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
