Bhubaneswar: Fog continues to engulf Odisha, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting dense fog in several districts for the next two days.
The IMD has issued a fog alert for 19 districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Keonjhargarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal.
According to the IMD’s forecast for Sunday, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over 19 districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal on Sunday.
Additionally, shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over these districts, as well as in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Sonepur.
For Monday, the IMD has predicted dense fog at one or two places over seven districts, including Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
“Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati and at one or two places over the district of Bhadrak”, read the IMD prediction for Monday.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions while travelling during the early morning hours due to reduced visibility.
