Bhubaneswar: The office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) today issued an advisory in view of the dense fog alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for several parts of Odisha.
In a letter marked to all Collectors and Superintendents of Police and transport department officials, the SRC’s office has advised police and transport officials to take necessary steps for controlled plying of vehicles on highways during dense fog.
In a letter to police and transport department officials, the SRC directed them to take adequate steps for controlled movement of vehicles on National Highways during dense fog.
The advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure to prevent road accidents in different parts of the State.
As per the IMD’s bulletin quoted by the SRC’s office, dense fog is very likely to occur in the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Kandhamal, Angul, and Cuttack from tonight till tomorrow morning.
Similarly, dense is very likely to occur in the districts of Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Kandhamal, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Kendrapara from Sunday night till Monday morning.
