Berhampur: In a shocking incident, the District Education Officer of Ganjam was assaulted by a teacher-couple on the former’s office premises on Tuesday.
According to reports, the husband-wife-duo were peeved over non-payment of their salaries and were staging a protest over the past few days.
Today, the couple came to meet the DEO at her office and after a couple of minutes of discussion, the husband and wife started beating her. The sequence of events was recorded on the CCTV camera of the office.
The DEO, Binita Senapati sustained injuries and has been hospitalised. Meanwhile, a police case has been registered against the teacher couple (Shantilata Sahu and her husband) in this matter.
