Bhubaneswar: The low-pressure area formed over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday moved west-northwestwards, concentrated into a depression and lay centered at 0830 hours IST Wednesday over west-central Bay of Bengal about 510 km southeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 650 km south-southeast of Paradip (Odisha) and 790 km south of Digha (West Bengal).
It is likely to move initially northwestwards, then north-northwestwards, and intensify into a deep depression over the west-central Bay of Bengal off the Andhra Pradesh coast on Thursday morning. Thereafter, it would recurve north-northeastwards and reach over the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast on Friday morning and off the north Odisha-West Bengal coasts on Saturday.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khordha, in a few places in Balasore, Jajpur, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Rayagada and in one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Boudh, Angul, and Kalahandi. Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, in many places in Angul, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Khordha, Puri, at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Ganjam. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, Angul and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
