Bhubaneswar: A depression is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha-West Bengal coast in the next 48 hours, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
As per the Meteorological Centre, the low pressure area over central parts of Bay of Bengal is very likely to become a well-marked low pressure over westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast in 24 hours.
It is likely to move North-Northeastwards and concentrate into a depression over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha-West Bengal coast during the subsequent 24 hours.
The Meteorological Centre had yesterday predicted that under influence of low pressure, heavy rainfall or thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur in several districts of Odisha till October 23.
Besides, squally weather (wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) is likely over westcentral parts of Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood till the above date.
