Bhubaneswar: The depression over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal crossed the coast near Kalingapatnam between north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha on Sunday.
The depression lay centered over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh, approximately 70 km west of Kalingapatnam, 80 km north-northeast of Visakhapatnam, and 170 km southwest of Gopalpur (Odisha).
It has been moving northwestwards at a speed of 10 km/h over the past six hours and is expected to continue in this direction, affecting north Andhra Pradesh, adjoining south Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana over the next 24 hours.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather forecast.
