Bhubaneswar: The depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal was centred at 5.30 AM today about 280 km southeast of Vishakhapatnam, 320 km east southeast of Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) and 360 km east-southeast of Narsapur (Andhra Pradesh). It is very likely to intensify further into a Deep Depression during next 12 hours.
In its morning weather bulletin, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the depression moved west-north-westwards with a speed of 4 kmph. The bulletin added that it is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh coast between Narsapur and Vishakhapatnam, close to Kakinada during the early morning of October 13.

IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated cases of heavy rainfall in southern Odisha for October 12 (today). The warning has been extended for adjoining Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and North Kerala and heavy falls at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Vidarbha. Extremely heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and also over north Kerala and adjoining coastal Karnataka on October 12.
On October 13, as the depression intensifies into a deep depression, heavy falls are expected at isolated places over south Odisha. The forecast has been extended for Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and Vidarbha. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places likely to occur over Telangana, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathawada.
