Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Energy Minister K V Singh Deo inaugurated a state-of-the-art Power Distribution Technology Centre of TPCODL, a joint initiative by Tata Power and the Government of Odisha in Bhubaneswar today.
The center represents a significant advancement in power distribution management, operational efficiency, and network resilience across the state.
“This Power Distribution Technology Centre is a key step in making Odisha a hub of distribution excellence. With advanced infrastructure and technologies, it ensures resilient and reliable power for the state. It reflects our vision for a future-ready energy ecosystem that supports both consumers and industries,” said Deputy CM Singh Deo during the ceremony.
The inauguration event witnessed the presence of senior dignitaries, including Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Tata Power CEO & MD Praveer Sinha, President of T&D Tata Power Sanjay Banga, and CEOs of Odisha DISCOMs TPCODL, TPSODL, TPWODL, and TPNODL, alongside other government and corporate officials.
Equipped with cutting-edge Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems, the centre integrates a 24×7 Power System Control Centre (PSCC) for real-time network monitoring and operational continuity. Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) enhance reliability and operational precision, while Geographic Information System (GIS) technology improves asset management and consumer indexing.
Additional features include a Utility Data Stream (UDS) that automates energy audits by integrating GIS, billing, and meter management systems. Real-time weather monitoring and satellite communication capabilities further strengthen the center’s ability to ensure uninterrupted power supply across Odisha.
This initiative underscores Tata Power’s commitment to transforming Odisha into a hub of distribution excellence, fostering sustainable growth and energy reliability for both consumers and industries.
