Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, reviewed the Odisha Power Generating Corporation (OPGC) at Lok Seva Bhavan today. The review meeting focused on strengthening and upgrading OPGC’s data management and operational security infrastructure.
Singh Deo directed OPGC to adopt cutting-edge technologies like cloud computing and artificial intelligence to bolster its internal security system. RailTel company made a presentation on the subject, highlighting potential solutions to upgrade OPGC’s infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, OPGC Managing Director Kedar Ranjan Pandu, and Financial Advisor Devidutta Tripathi. As a key player in Odisha’s energy landscape, OPGC caters to over 30% of the state’s load demand and operates large thermal power generating stations. The upgrade in its infrastructure is expected to enhance the overall efficiency and reliability of power supply in the state.
