Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo chaired a review meeting of various corporations and agencies under the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (A&FE) Department on Monday.
The meeting discussed achievements of targets set by the department, transparency, and efficiency in official work.
Deo emphasized the need to reach out to farmers at the grassroots level, providing services, support, guidance, and benefits.
He also stressed the importance of promoting organic farming, creating facilities for organic certification, marketing support, and related infrastructure development.
The meeting culminated in the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between the Odisha government and four corporations under the A&FE Department’s administrative control such as Odisha Agro-Industries Corporation Limited, Odisha State Seeds Corporation Limited, Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation and APICOL (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited).
The MOUs aim to enhance cooperation and collaboration for the financial year 2024-25.
Senior officials, including Principal Secretary to the A&FE Department Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of A&FP Prem Chandra Chaudhary and Director of Horticulture & Soil Conservation & Watershed Development Nikhil Pavan Kalyan among others attended the meeting.
