Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, chaired a review meeting on various functions of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) at the conference hall of Krushi Bhavan on Friday.
During the meeting, Singh Deo expressed his gratitude to everyone for successfully organising the OUAT Convocation Ceremony on December 5.
A detailed review was conducted on OUAT’s activities, infrastructure, classrooms, hostel facilities, teaching staff, and vacant positions. The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised the timely completion of the ongoing developmental works and provided necessary guidance to expedite progress.
The state government is taking several initiatives to strengthen the agriculture sector and empower farmers in Odisha. In this context, efforts are underway to upgrade OUAT and transform it into a world-class university. This vision encompasses not just the Bhubaneswar campus but also the development of OUAT campuses in other districts of Odisha.
The review meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Independent Secretary Dillip Kumar Parida, Vice Chancellor of OUAT Prabhat Kumar Raul, and other senior officials, who shared their valuable suggestions during the discussion.
