Bhubaneswar: Two meetings of ST & SC Development, Minority & Backward Classes Welfare Department were chaired by the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg held today at Lokseva Bhawan.
The first meeting of the State Level Executive Committee(SLEC) held relates to approval of projects under Article 275(1) of the constitution in Tribal Areas. Project work of 178 crores has been approved for recommendation to Government of India. Major works include additional classrooms, new hostels, staff quarters for teachers, roads and bridges. DC- cum-ACS emphasized to make holistic planning and complete the assets on time.
The second meeting held relates to State Level Steering Committee (SLSC) Meeting of Mukhya Mantri Janajati Jivika Mission. The activities undertaken in the last 2 years under this State Sector Livelihood Scheme were reviewed.
Various activities relating to improving of agriculture production, enhancing irrigation infrastructure, and promotion of micro-entrepreneurs were deliberated upon. DC-cum-ACS Garg appreciated the achievements made so far and emphasized to ensure no duplication occurs in the field. She also advised to take impact assessment study for course correction as needed. Annual plan of rupees 225 crores has been approved in the meeting.
B Parameswaran, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, ST SC Devt & MBC Devt., concerned secretaries of respective Committees and senior Officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
