Bhubaneswar: Emphasizing swift action and coordinated efforts, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg has directed all agencies involved in the Rengali Irrigation Project to resolve pending issues promptly to ensure its timely completion.
Chairing the 5th meeting of the Project Management Committee at Lokseva Bhavan on Monday, Garg stressed the critical need for seamless inter-departmental coordination among the various executing agencies and stakeholders.
She highlighted that resolving key bottlenecks – including land acquisition, environmental clearances, and matters concerning the railway department – is essential for smooth project progress.
“Departments and institutions must work in close coordination to overcome hurdles efficiently,” Garg stated, underscoring the importance of a unified approach to address both major and minor challenges. She further informed the committee about ongoing engagements with relevant Union Government ministries to expedite solutions for implementation-related issues.
Setting a clear deadline, the Development Commissioner instructed all concerned parties to resolve their outstanding issues before the next committee meeting, scheduled for the following month. This directive reinforces the state administration’s focus on accelerating the vital irrigation project.
