Puri: A devotee from Chhattisgarh succumbed after offering prayers to Lord Jagannath at the century-old shrine here on Sunday. The deceased was identified as YG Murti, who fell unconscious near Bimala Temple on the premises of Jagannath temple.
Murti was rusged to the district headquarters hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors. According to the family members, Murti was sitting on the stairs infront of Bimala temple after completing darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.
He complained of breathlessness and collapsed immediately. While Murty was shifted to the nearest medical facility, but it was too late, a servitor said.
