Puri: Beginning 29th of this month, devotees will be allowed to enter the Shree Jagannath Temple through the Paschima Dwara (Vyaghra Dwara) apart from the Singha Dwara, informed Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Vir Vikram Yadav.
Devotees can exit through Uttara Dwara and Dakshin Dwara.
Briefing reporters after a meeting of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee here today, Yadav said that decision of the Niti Sub Committee with regard to holding of Chandan Yatra and other rituals of the temple was approved at the meeting.
He said the discussions on the 2022-23 Budget of the temple could not be completed in today’s meeting and the Committee will again meet on the 25th of this month to discuss it.
The decision to start construction of chariots for the annual Rath Yatra was approved by the committee, he added.
Puri Collector Samarth Verma who was also present at the briefing informed that participation of devotees will be allowed during the Chandan Yatra of the Lords.
He said that the shade arrangements made for the devotees on the Grand Road will be shifted to Pashima Dwara as the construction of chariots for the annual Rath Yatra of the Mahaprabhu will start.
