Bhubaneswar: The pulling of the divine chariots carrying Lord Jagannath and His sibling deities, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, resumed on Monday with a great show of enthusiasm and devotion among the devotees.
The grand chariot procession of the Holy Trinity came to a halt after sunset on Sunday as per the rituals.
On Sunday evening, the Taladhwaja Rath of Lord Balabhadra halted at Marichikote Chhak, Devi Subhadra’s, Darpadalana Chariot near Srikrishna Cinema Hall, while Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosha chariot halted at a few meters away from the Singhadwara.
Since last night, devotees have been flocking to witness Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra on their majestic chariots.
Lakhs of devotees have assembled to participate and seek the blessings of the Trinity amidst extreme humidity and crowds.
The world-famous Rath Yatra holds special significance as it is the only time the deities of Puri Srimandir venture out of the temple to bless devotees on Bada Danda during their nine-day journey.
