Bhubaneswar: New building of the Civil Defence Training Institute was inaugurated by Director General of Fire Services, Commandant General Home Guards and Director Civil Defence, Satyajit Mohanty, on the premises of Odisha Fire And Disaster Response Academy (OFDRA) at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The institute built at a cost of Rs 1.92 crores will not only provide training to Civil Defence volunteers but also create awareness among the public through various programmes. It will also provide service to people during disasters.
Presently, a total of 11,527 volunteers have registered at Civil Defence Training Institutes in Khordha, Koraput, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur.
