Jeypore: The Director General of Police, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, visited Koraput and took stock of the security activities.
He toured the DBF camp at the training center and met with senior police officers at the district police station. During a press conference, Khurania emphasized suppressing Maoist activities, stressing the need for effective policing and eliminating ganja cultivation.
He noted that Odisha was previously ganja-free but cultivation emerged in inaccessible areas like Koraput and Malkangiri under the patronage of Maoists.
However, strict police action will eradicate ganja cultivation along with Maoist presence. Khurania outlined plans to address police station issues, prioritizing public welfare and safety.
