Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania left for Berhampur to visit injured SOG jawan Premsingh Majhi, who is undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
According to reports, Majhi was injured seriously during a fierce exchange of fire between security forces and Maoists in the border areas of Ganjam and Kandhamal districts. The injured jawan sustained bullet injuries to his left hand and abdomen, with one bullet still lodged in his abdomen.
The injured jawan was rescued and initially treated at the Primary Health Centre in Indragarh, Raikia, before being shifted to the Bhanjanagar Sub-Divisional Hospital.
During his visit, DGP Khurania will meet with Majhi and took stock of his health and assess the medical treatment being provided.
After visiting the hospital, DGP Khurania will proceed to Rangeilunda to review security arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
