Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Dr R.P. Sharma took a review meeting here about the progress and status of post cyclonic relief distribution and restoration work in the Twin City Commissionerate Police.
As per a press note, Odisha Police is doing a lot of good work for the cyclone victims in the Police Commissionerate area of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.
Aska lights have been installed in the major traffic posts of Bhubaneswar city to ease traffic movements in the dark.
Police is also providing blanket security to civil administration like CESU, PHED, BMC etc. along with ODRAF and NDRF teams who are engaged in the twin city of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack in diverse cyclone rehabilitation and reconstruction work.
Besides, Police is guarding the water tank points round the clock for safe distribution of water to the people.
Police is escorting the mobile water tankers in the twin cities to avert any untoward incidents during distribution of water.
Commissionerate Police along with Regional Branch of Red Cross has distributed dry foods to the cyclone victims in the INFOSYS slum area.
Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty was present during the distribution.
Distribution of relief materials and cash, as announced by the Chief Minister to the cyclone victims, was started at 67 different locations across the city here and accordingly, elaborate police arrangements were made for smooth distribution, the press note issued by the Odisha Police State Headquarters further stated.
