DGP Stresses On Curbing Crime Amidst Festive Season In Twin Cities

Cuttack: Odisha Police DG Abhay on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the prevention of crime in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during the festive season starting from Durga Puja.

He emphasised on the need to maintain peace in the two cities, especially during Durga Puja and also directed that stern action should be taken against people demanding ‘chanda’ and extortionists.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the DGP asked his officials to pay special attention to crowd management at various puja mandaps during the Durga Puja festival and take disciplinary action against those violating Covid norms.

The meeting was attended by Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi, Additional DG (Crime), Director of Intelligence, Additional DG (Law and Order), IG (Law and Order) and DCPs of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
