Bargarh: The Dhanu Yatra, renowned as the world’s largest open-air theatre, continued to mesmerize audiences on the fourth day of its celebrations in Bargarh on Monday.
The day was marked by a grand display of devotion and theatrical brilliance.
The highlight of the day featured a powerful reenactment of Lord Krishna’s childhood. Villagers of Gopapur gathered to witness a vibrant performance depicting Krishna and his brother Balarama walking through the streets, accompanied by their friends.
The scene captured the devotion of Yashoda and Nanda, who performed the ritual honoring their divine children. The villagers, in turn, paid homage to the brothers during this heartwarming moment.
The drama continued with a depiction of King Kansa’s relentless attempts to rid the world of Krishna. The tyrant sent his most powerful demons—Putana, Trinavarta, Aghasura, and Bakasura—to kill the young Krishna.
However, each demon was swiftly defeated in turn. As the news of their deaths reached King Kansa, his anger escalated, leading him to seek solace in music and dance. A cultural group performed to help calm the enraged king, providing a moment of relief amidst his fury.
This spectacular performance, rich in culture and history, was part of the ongoing Dhanu Yatra, drawing large crowds and offering a vivid portrayal of the timeless legend of Lord Krishna.
