Bhubaneswar: A delegation of Odisha Kulta Samaj met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence here on Monday, and discussed their various demands.
The community thanked the Chief Minister for the transformation program taken by the Chief Minister in the 5T initiative for the improvement of Lord Narasinghath peeth.
During the discussion, they requested the CM to provide land and financial assistance for the construction of a Dharamshala at Puri.
Kulta Samaj has been playing a leading role in the establishment, management and propagation of Jagannath culture in villages by building temples. Ramchandi Temple near Puri is also a famous shrine of Kulta Samaj.
Lakhs of devotees of Kulta Samaj visit Puri every year. Therefore they requested the CM for a Dharmashala for Kulta Samaj in Puri. Accepting their request, the Chief Minister has directed the Puri Collector to identify the land at a suitable place within a week.
The Chief Minister said that steps will be taken by the government to provide financial assistance for the construction of the Dharmasala which will be completed within a year.
The community thanked the Chief Minister for his response towards their demands. The delegation comprised of Kulta Samaj members from Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, and Brajrajnagar region.
