Dhenkanal: Special Judge, Vigilance, here today remanded DSP in-charge of Dhenkanal Sadar police station Abhinav Dalua to judicial custody till September 13.
Dalua was arrested by the Vigilance on Tuesday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a complainant (coal transporter) to facilitate his transportation business.
The accused had earlier threatened the complainant to not allow his coal transportation if the bribe amount was not paid. The complainant paid Rs 15,000 on August 24, but Dalua still demanded more. So the complainant approached Vigilance, following which a trap was laid and he was nabbed while further taking Rs 30,000.
Vigilance has registered a case under section 7 of the PC Amendment Act,2018 against Dalua.
