Dhenkanal: Tension sparked in the Muktapasi branch of the Odisha Gramya Bank under Kamakshyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district on Monday when an inebriated youth wielded a sword and attacked a security guard inside the bank premises.
According to reports, the inebriated youth first attacked the security guard of the Odisha Gramya Bank Muktapasi branch and then threatened to kill all the staff of the bank.
In the attack a finger of the security guard’s left hand has been wounded. Customers inside the bank were a terrified lot in the high-voltage drama that continued for about an hour.
Despite the bank’s manager informing the police over phone, the latter allegedly turned up nearly two hours after the incident.
By the time the police reached the spot the sword wielding youth had left the place. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the youth.
