Dhenkanal Villagers Encounter Elephant Menace, Standing Paddy Crop Damaged

Dhenkanal:   The villagers of Sogor under Anlabereni forest section of Kamakhyanagar (Western) Range in Dhenkanal Forest Division are now spending sleepless nights due to the ongoing elephant menace as a herd of 23 pachyderms have damaged the standing paddy crop.

The villagers rued that over hundred acres of their annual Kharif crop has totally been damaged. People are now in a state of panic.

On the other hand, the forest officials are on their concerted efforts to drive away the pachyderms. However, the same herd of elephants has once again bounced back since last night. They have been staying put on the bank of Brahmani river.
