Sambalpur: The district police busted an inter-state gang that was involved in diesel theft from IOCL oil pipeline stretching from Paradip to Ranchi via Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.
The police acted following a complaint at Katarbaga police station in Sambalpur. The gang was involved in at least 23 such cases in different districts during 2018 to 2022.
The gang members managed to escape from the police so far. On this occasion, seven were arrested and three trucks were seized. Apart from this, welding machine, generator and other incriminating items were seized.
