Bhubaneswar: A first-year student of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Rajasunakhala in Nayagarh district, died on Sunday after being found in a critically injured condition near Ostapur in Khordha district.
She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the Khordha District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
According to reports, the student had left her hostel yesterday evening with a male friend on a motorcycle and had been missing since then. Her family and hostel authorities reportedly raised an alarm when she did not return.
She was later found near Ostapur under the Baghamari police station, in a severely injured state. Local residents immediately rushed her to the Khordha District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors provided emergency care. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries a few hours later.
Further investigation is underway.
