Jajpur: The South Western Range DIG Charan Singh Meena visited Jajpur police station to review law and order situation in the district on Monday.
It is pertinent to mention that DIG Meena’s visit comes on the heels of two significant incidents in Jajpur district: the attack on Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo and the Biraja Haat incidents.
As per reports, the DIG held a discussion with senior police officials including Jajpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Yash Pratap Shrimal and collector P Anvesha Reddy regarding the prevailing law and order situation in the district during his visit and appealed for peace.
DIG Meena said, “I had come to review the law and order situation in Jajpur district. Around 40 platoons of police forces have been deployed at strategic locations in the district to ward off any sort of violence. Anyone attempting to disrupt the law will face action. Jajpur police are fully alert to prevent further disturbances. At least 19 persons have been arrested in connection with different cases.”
Notably, Jajpur police conducted a flag march in the district headquarters town while the Jajpur district administration imposed prohibitory orders in Jajpur town on Sunday.
