**Bhubaneswar: ** After uproarious scenes in turn since its inaugural day over farmer issues, tomato distress sale and inordinate delay in appointment of [Lokayukta](http://www.ommcomnews.com/public/din-mars-yet-again-odisha-assembly-over-lokayukta-appointment-delay-adjourned-), pandemonium yet again disrupted the ongoing Budget Session of Odisha Assembly on Saturday.
Unable to run the House proceedings smoothly, Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat had to adjourn the functioning till 11:30 am from the Question Hour as Congress members created ruckus over irregularities in conduct of Tribal Advisory Council (TAC) meeting which has not been held for the last five years.
Since the din still persisted, the House was further adjourned till 3 pm as both the Congress and BJP legislators demanded Speaker’s ruling over non-conduct of the TAC meeting in Odisha.

In his reactions, BJP MLA Rabi Narayan Naik said, “In Odisha, there is a 23% of Scheduled Tribe (ST) population. For their uplift, there is a Constitutional provision of Tribal Advisory Council (TAC). It ought to be convened twice a year. But under this State Government, TAC has been convened only once since 2014. Against the mandatory 34 meetings since 2000, only 15 meetings have been held since 2000 and the current 2018.”
He burst, “Thus it proves the Government’s lackadaisical attitude towards the tribes and tribal development in the State here. While Odisha Chief Minister is the Chairman of the TAC, such lapses are uncalled for and extremely unfortunate. On the other hand, it is being blamed that the Centre is neglecting the Tribal Affairs Department here. Union Tribal Affairs Minister is a member of the TAC here. Had the meetings conducted, it would have been better for the tribal development here in the State.”
“For this reason the Leader of Opposition raised the issue and sought that the Chief Minister should beg apology on the floor of the House for such an utter neglect,” the BJP MLA lambasted.
