Bhubaneswar: Acting on the allegations of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) by Padmanav Hota, Junior Mining Officer (JMO), Keonjhar, to his known sources of income, Odisha Vigilance personnel on Wednesday launched simultaneous house searches at premises linked to him.
The house searches are being conducted by 7 DSPs, 5 Inspectors, 8 ASIs, and other supporting staff of Odisha Vigilance on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
The Vigilance sleuths are conducting the searches at seven locations in Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar, Bhawanipatna and Jajpur. The searches are currently underway at the following locations:
- A double-storeyed building located at Jagannathpur, Keonjhar.
- A four storeyed-building over plot No. 222/1209 located at Karodakanta, Bhubaneswar.
- A farm house over plot No. 2827/4230 located at Madanpur under Ghasipura Tahasil in Keonjhar district.
- A single-storeyed building at paternal land located at Jamadeipur Sasan, PS – Tamka in Jajpur district.
- The office chamber of Padmanav Hota at Keonjhar.
- A rented house located at Hill Town in
- A house of his relative located at Balarampur (Talgada), PS – Dharmasala in Jajpur district.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Hota and his family members:
- One four-storeyed building with area 5,800 sqft located at Karodakanta, Bhubaneswar.
- One Double storeyed building with area 10,000 sqft located at Jagannathpur, Keonjhar.
- One building located at Jamadeipur Sasan, PS –Tamka in Jajpur district.
- One farmhouse spread over 5 acres of land located at Madanpur under Ghasipura Tahasil in Keonjhar district.
- 14 plots of which 4 are in prime areas of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and 10 in Danagadi in Jajpur.
- The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/plots/ farm house are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
