Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Narayan Chandra Nayak, Sub-Collector, Kamakhyanagar, Dhenkanal district, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
According to an official statement issued by Odisha Vigilance, during simultaneous searches at the properties linked to Nayak, Vigilance unearthed huge disproportionate assets, including three multi-storeyed buildings at Bhubaneswar, 14 high-value plots, deposits of over Rs 34.57 lakh, cash to the tune of Rs 1.48 lakh, gold ornaments weighing 366 gms, etc. Nayak was unable to offer satisfactory explanation for these assets.
A case has been registered against Nayak at the Vigilance Cell police station and further investigation into the case is underway.
