Bhubaneswar: Commotion prevailed in Orachandabila village under Betanti police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district when the locals spotted the body of a youth hanging from the Shiva temple bell in the village on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Chandra Pan, a native of Hatikoot village under Nilgiri police station.
According to reports, Ram Chandra was in love with a girl from Orachandabila village but the girl broke his heart and decided to marry someone else. Her marriage was fixed on Thursday. Hearing the news of his beloved’s marriage, Ram Chandra reached her village and put an end to his life by hanging from the bell attached to the Shiva temple there.
After the villagers spotted his hanging body, they informed the police about the tragic incident. The police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident and came to learn the deceased’s identity from his mobile phone. The police are currently investigating the case with the help of a scientific team.
