Divine Intervention: Rajasthan Man Returns To Puri To Thank Lord Jagannath After Comatose Son Regains Consciousness

Bhubaneswar: A heart-touching story of faith and divine grace has once again emerged from the holy city of Puri, reinforcing the age-old belief that Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath, the Lord of the Universe, never abandons his devotees.

On November 8, 2025, a video from the Singhdwar of the 12th-century Shree Jagannath Temple went viral across social media platforms.

In the emotional footage, Nimash Boi, a devotee from Rajasthan, was seen weeping and praying desperately while holding his 7-year-old son, who lay unconscious in a deep coma. With doctors in Rajasthan having lost all hope and discharging the child, Nimash had arrived in Puri as his final refuge, placing his son at the feet of Lord Jagannath in complete surrender.

Two weeks later, Nimash Boi has returned to the same Singhdwar – this time with tears of joy and boundless gratitude.

“My son is slowly coming back to life because of the mercy of Mahaprabhu. I have full faith in Lord Jagannath that he will get my son well. I will sit here until my son gets cured. I have faith in Bhagwan Jagannath that he will bless my son,” an emotional Nimash said outside the shrine today.

“I had no hope left. Doctors said nothing more could be done. But I had heard the leelas (divine plays) of Lord Jagannath all my life. I brought my child here and handed him over to the Lord. Today, my boy is opening his eyes, moving his hands, and responding. Only Jagannath knows the pain of His devotees and when to end it.”

The child, who had been perfectly healthy until the age of seven, suddenly fell seriously ill earlier this year. Medical tests revealed severely impaired blood circulation in the brain. Despite treatment at multiple government and private hospitals across Rajasthan, his condition deteriorated rapidly, eventually slipping into a coma. When doctors declared the case hopeless, Nimash decided to undertake the long journey to Puri with his unconscious son.

The viral video from November 8 captured millions of hearts as the distraught father was seen praying fervently at the temple gate, unable to enter with the child due to health conditions but refusing to leave without the Lord’s darshan. Following nationwide prayers and blessings from devotees across the country who saw the video, the boy began showing signs of recovery within days.

He has now been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Puri for further treatment and observation. Servitors of the Shree Jagannath Temple and local residents have prayed for the early recovery of the little boy.
