Bhubaneswar: As a top performing DMF district, Keonjhar in Odisha has been selected by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, to open a stall at the prestigious India International Trade Fair (IITF) held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from November 14 to 27. This recognition underscores the impactful development work undertaken by DMF Keonjhar across the sectors of social development.
The stall, situated in Hall No. 5 of the Mining Pavilion at IITF, features a dynamic exhibition of various development projects executed by the DMF Keonjhar. Utilising cutting-edge technology, the stall offers visitors a unique experience through Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), providing a vivid 3D view of project sites.
Through the LED screen, the stall is displaying video documentaries showcasing the breadth and impact of DMF Keonjhar’s work. Sector-specific leaflets are also being distributed, offering comprehensive insights into the positive outcomes achieved through DMF initiatives.
In addition to these engaging exhibits, the stall is proud to present tasar silk products from Bhagamunda, paper mesh items, millet biscuits & cookies, and millet seeds available for purchase. These locally sourced products have garnered significant attention, drawing visitors with their unique appeal.
Officials from the district administration and six members of the Mission Shakti Self-Help Group (SHG) from the district will be present in three phases to showcase various works under the DMF and to manage the sale of these products respectively. The inaugural day witnessed the esteemed presence of VL Kantha Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India, who lauded the commendable projects funded by DMF Keonjhar across various sectors in the district.
Many Central government officials and dignitaries visiting the stall have expressed admiration for the transformative impact of DMF Keonjhar’s initiatives. The millet products, in particular, have captured the hearts of many visitors. Due to overwhelming demand, additional products have been sent in the second phase to meet the growing interest.
DMF, Keonjhar through its innovative and strategic implementation of projects, continues to positively transform and touch the lives of people in mining-affected areas. The theme of IITF for this year is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – United By Trade”.
The tagline of the mining pavilion, “Connecting Beyond Mining,” complements the broader vision and impact of Keonjhar district’s efforts in fostering sustainable development.
