Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today warned people of Odisha not to take the unlock phase for granted and if needed the State Government will impose complete lockdown.
“We have started gradual unlocking to save livelihood of people. However, it has been observed that at many places people are overcrowding. If we notice that COVID appropriate behaviour is being disregarded, the State will impose complete lockdown once again,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said today evening.
In a message to the people of Odisha, Naveen said, third wave of COVID-19 has been noted in a few foreign coountries. In India, some States have reported a surge in cases recently. The risk of third wave in Odisha cannot be ruled out.
“But if we adhere to COVID protocols, maintain social distancing, wear mask and not move out unnecessarily or overcrowd markets, then the intensity of this wave can be significantly reduced,” the CM said.
Odisha has been able to manage the second wave of COVID in a better manner than other States. The doctors and health workers are toiling for hours amid high risk to save our people. We need to respect their sacrifice by adhereing to COVID guidelines, Naveen added.
