Bhubaneswar: The 5T and ‘Nabin Odisha’ chairman VK Pandian today clarified that he would not contest the upcoming elections.
“Neither I need any post or position, nor do I have interest to fight this election. The Biju Janata Dal-led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will contest in 147 Assembly seats in the state, which means the CM will stand in all 147 seats. And I will stand behind him in 147 segments,” clarified Pandian at the extended executive body meeting of the BJD.
“I have got two blessings. One is the service of Mahaprabhu Jagannath and the other is the work of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. I am inspired by the Chief Minister and completely devoted to him. I have surrendered my future to Mahaprabhu Jagannath and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik,” Pandian said while addressing the party meeting.
He stated that many are excited to know about his motive behind the electoral politics. Many have proposed him to contest from various constituencies. “But, I can humbly say that I feel privileged to work with the Chief Minister. I will stand with him,” he added.
He promised to work to take Odisha to greater heights by strengthening the Biju Janata Dal. Pandian pointed out that he got the direct opportunity to work for Odisha and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Moreover, he now got a chance to work for lakhs of party workers, he said and promised to take the transformation process to new heights.
