Bhubaneswar: A man killed his wife and sister-in-law over suspected family feud in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar. The bodies of the sisters were found from their house at Housing Board Colony on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Gayatri Sethi and her sister Saraswati. It is suspected that they were murdered some two to three days back. The matter came to light after Gayatri’s husband Bijay Sethi was detained by his in-laws.
Gayatri’s father Sudam Sethi informed that the mobile phones of his daughters were switched off for the past couple of days. Bijay, who works at a private educational institution, was also not picking up his phone.
Suspecting foul play, Sudam visited the house of his daughter but found it locked. However, he and other family members waited near the house and later nabbed Bijay. Following it, Bijay confessed to having killed Gayatri and her sister.
Later, they informed the police and handed over Bijay to them. Meanwhile, police have sealed the house and initiated a probe in this regard.
