Bhubaneswar: Former Advisor of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS), Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo was a visionary. He was always focussed on innovating ways to develop the education system, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash here today.
Addressing a condolence meeting held over video conference, on the occasion of Dr Sahoo’s ‘Ekadasah’ (11th-day rituals, post-death), Dash said, “He was inclined towards holistic development of students. Dr Sahoo has been an ideal guide development of education.”
The Minister expressed heartfelt condolence on the demise of Dr Sahoo. Members of the OAVS have taken up afforestation programme across Odisha from today onwards to respect their former Advisor.
Addressing the meeting, School and Mass Education Department Secretary, Satyabrata Sahu said, “The dedication, commitment, dream, willpower and devotion were the key facets of Dr Bijay Kumar Sahoo. These qualities guided him to march forward in the path of success.”
State Project Director, Adarsha Vidyalaya, Lingaraj Panda, Additional Secretary, Raghuram Iyer, Officer on Special Duty, Radhamohan Panda, Deputy Director, Adarsha Vidyalaya, Prativa Manjari Dash, and Satyabrata Samal from Adarsha Vidyalaya Anandpur, were present to pay final tributes to Dr Sahoo.
His twin sons Vishal Aditya and Vikram Aditya and daughter Vijisha also attended the condolence meeting. On the occasion, a (video) song by (vocals) Principal Secretary (S&ME) Satyabrata Sahu was presented. Students, teachers and officials of Adarsha Vidyalaya family were present to pay their tributes to Dr Sahoo.
