Bhubaneswar: The woman suspect in the DRDO’s Chandipur Integrated Test Range (ITR) classified information leak case had proposed to marry two of the accused persons and had even promised to visit the Chandipur residence of one of the accused persons, revealed Crime Branch today.
“The woman suspect in the Chandipur classified information leak case had even proposed to marry two of the accused persons. She even told one of the accused that she will visit his house at Chandipur,” informed Crime Branch Additional Director General of Police (Crime Branch) Sanjeeb Panda today.
Panda said that the woman suspect had been using a mobile phone number of the UK (United Kingdom) and used to chat and talk with the accused persons using various social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
“She had interacted with two of the accused persons even through video call. She used to speak in Hindi and contact the accused persons through seven Facebook accounts under different identities with different names and photographs,” the Crime Branch ADG informed.
He said that efforts are underway to get the details of the account in Dubai from which money was transferred to the bank account of one of the accused persons.
An investigation is also underway to find out if the accused persons had received money through any other means, he added.
Panda told that further investigation is underway to get the details of the UK phone number and find out the actual identity of the suspect woman and her place of residence.
“Crime Branch team after getting the five accused persons on remand for seven days has produced them before the court after thoroughly interrogating them. After analysing the information gathered, they can be again brought on remand if the need arises,” the Crime Branch ADG stated.
