Baripada: A driver was killed after the truck he was on fell off from Duarasuni ghat in Bangriposi here on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Shamsuddin Khan of Medinapore and the injured helper as Bankim Hembrem. They were rushed to the Bangriposi hospital where Khan was declared dead.
Local police and fire service personnel retrieved the duo and rushed them to the hospital following the mishap.
The truck was coming from Kolkata and heading to Keonjhar, reports stated. A case has been registered in this connection.
