Jharsuguda: A drone fell near the house-cum office of BJP MP Suresh Pujari under mysterious circumstances at Amadaraha Belpahar in Odisha’s Jharsuguda on Thursday.
The suspicious-looking drone was found crashed near the rented house of Pujari Amadaraha. The incident occurred in the absence of Pujari who is currently contesting election from Brajrajnagar Assembly seat.
The care taker of his office informed Pujari who called the SP over phone. Following a directive, a team of police led by Belpahar IIC visited the site and launched an investigation after seizing the drone.
From the primary investigation, police found that drone belonged to Forest department, which was used for a plantation survey.
Jharsuguda SP said “The area is located between Brajrajnagar and Belpahar. Belpahar IIC reached the spot soon after the incident and seized the drone. From preliminary investigation, it is known that the drone was used by the forest department to conduct survey of plantation”.
The drone is in police custody, he added. Further investigation is going on.
