Cuttack: The Cuttack city police will be keeping a close watch on drunkards and hooligans getting involved in brawls in view of the upcoming urban polls.
DCP Prateek Singh today said that anyone getting involved in untoward incidents in public places will be taken to task, stringently.
Besides, the police will be extra vigilant to check activities of drugs and ganja peddlers. Prior to the elections, armed police will be deployed at vantage points to ensure that trouble makers are kept at bay, the police said.
Police will be present in every nook and corner of the city prior to the elections, till the results are announced. It will be ensured that the post-result victory celebrations are held in restricted manner, with no unnecessary gatherings, the police added.
