Durga Puja Covid Restrictions To Be Enforced For Kali Puja: Cuttack DCP

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 restrictions, as given by the Odisha Government, will remain in force for the upcoming Kali Puja in Cuttack.

Briefing the media, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said that in addition to banning on the sale and use of firecrackers standing Covid guidelines and protocols issued by the SRC will be strictly abided by.

The height of the idol shall not exceed 4-feet and there will be restrictions on cultural programs and bursting of crackers. 15 platoons of police force with 50 officers will be deployed in Cuttack, said Singh. Besides, all the officers in the district will also be deployed. He added that they will also conduct strict patrolling to ensure a safe Diwali this year.

The Goddess Kali idol immersion regulations will be similar to that of Goddess Durga’s idol immersion. Artificial lakes will be formed for immersion which will be done in phases to avoid gathering.

Before closing, Cuttack DCP requested all to celebrate Kali Puja and Diwali from their homes and avoid any kind of social gatherings.
