Cuttack: A Durga Puja marquee collapsed accidentally at Khan Nagar industrial area in Cuttack, specifically the light gate marquee in front of Netaji Bus Terminal.
Multiple vehicles were trapped under the collapsed structure, and several suffered damage. The cause of the accident remains unclear.
Local residents rescued vehicles stuck beneath the marquee. A heap of bamboo used in the construction of the marquee on the road blocked traffic. Authorities deployed two cranes to remove trapped vehicles. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as no occupants were inside the stuck vehicles.
According to Khan Nagar Puja Committee Secretary Prafulla Sahu the accident occurred due to a heavy vehicle hitting the marquee.
With the four-day Dussehra celebrations coming to an end, the beautiful marquee was being dismantled.
