Dutee Chand Requests Visa Help From Ministry Of External Affairs For European Races

Bhubaneswar: In hopes of participating in the International Association of Athletics Federations’ (IAAF) tournaments, ace sprinter Dutee Chand on Thursday requested External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to help her complete the VISA formalities.

On July 10, Dutee clocked 11.32 seconds to clinch the gold at the World University Games in Naples, becoming the first Indian ever to win a gold in the 100m event at a global meet.

Dutee, 23, has represented the country at national and international sporting events, winning several medals and breaking a fair share of records. She is the third Indian woman ever to qualify for the women’s 100m at the Summer Olympics.
