Malkangiri: The jawans of District Voluntary Force (DVF) in Malkangiri saved the life of an elderly man by carrying him on a cot for around two kilometres to reach the hospital.
Reportedly, the DVF jawans were engaged in a public awareness camp at Kamarpalli village under Mathili block at Malkangiri when they came to know about the ailing old man Apu Padiami.
The jawans immediately rushed to the old man’s house. Due to absence of a motorable road the DVF jawans arranged a cot and carried the old man for nearly 2 km to approach the main road.
From there Padiami was rushed to the community health centre (CHC) at Mathili. His condition was later stated to be normal.
