Bhubaneswar: In a bid to boost infrastructure in energy and irrigation sectors, Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister KV Singh Deo met with the representatives of WAPCOS, a Central Government Mini-ratna Company, at Lok Seva Bhavan. The meeting focused on power, irrigation, and infrastructure development in the state.
WAPCOS has a proven track record in Odisha, having successfully completed projects such as Rengali Irrigation Project, Gangadhar Meher Irrigation Project, Chipilima Power Channel.
During the meeting, discussions centred on repairing damaged sections of the Chipilima Power Channel, with assurances of necessary actions being taken. Additionally, upcoming projects were thoroughly deliberated upon, with Minister Singh Deo seeking details on project costs, durations, and specifications.
Minister Singh Deo noted that innovative solutions and futuristic ideas featured in the meeting hold immense potential for Odisha’s infrastructure growth and development.
The meeting was attended by Hemant Kumar Sharma, Principal Secretary, Energy Department and senior officials from Water Resources and Energy Department
